An advertiser is a person or company that pays for a product, event, or job to be advertised in a newspaper, on television, or on a poster. To pursue a career as an advertiser, you need a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, journalism, communications, business, or a relevant field. Some employers prefer job seekers with a master’s degree or internship experience in the industry. You need excellent communication skills to succeed as an advertiser since collaboration with other departments and clients is an integral part of your job. You also need a solid understanding of consumer behavior and the sales process. An advertiser creates marketing campaigns to promote a variety of services. As an advertiser, your job duties include conducting market research, collaborating with the sales and design teams to create targeted ad campaigns, reviewing multimedia ads to ensure consistent company voice, and monitoring the performance of ad campaigns to measure return on investment and to inform future marketing campaigns. The digital, print, radio, and video advertisements you develop as an advertiser are essential to how your client’s brand engages with customers. An ad experience is the combination of site layout and behavior, and content and ads that your users are exposed to. Research shows that ad experiences that are highly annoying or distracting may discourage visitors from returning to your site. Using images and sounds to appeal to your senses: sight, touch, taste, etc. Promoting a special ingredient may make you think the product works better than others. Featuring someone, like a celebrity, saying how the product worked for them can be convincing.
